How does Edanz Writing minimize the cost of our services?

Edanz minimizes expenses by using writers contracted to us, many of whom have a full-time workload for the Edanz Group but do not work in our offices. The majority of the Edanz writers are contracted to Edanz according to the work they do. They work from their own locations around the world and are paid for just the work they complete. Thus the overheads for Edanz Writing are much less than for traditional service companies. This creates savings we pass on to our clients in the form of our low fees.

How we determine the fees for our services

There are three main factors which will affect the cost of our service:

The length of the final manuscript - e.g. will it be 1000 or 3000 words
The starting point we work from; e.g. from raw data or from a draft manuscript
Your publication goals

While Edanz provides the same quality of service regardless of the level of the journal you are submitting to, your publication goals can affect the time spent on your manuscript. Publication goals might include publication in a high impact factor journal, a chapter of a book, a conference poster, medical education slide-kits, or any other method of communicating your scientific research. Your publication goals will affect the type of service you require and thus affect the price. For example, submitting to a top-tier journal such as Nature, Science, or Lancet, can require more work to ensure the manuscript meets these journal's often extensive style and formatting requirements than if you submit to a lower impact factor journal with lesser guidelines.

All services are charged at 800 RMB (12,000 Jpn yen) per hour. Hour estimates are based on a 3,000 word manuscript. The below are example options only; we will customize a service package according to your needs. For example, if you have already chosen a journal then that part of the service will be deducted from our final quotation. Please send your requirements and manuscript to us for a detailed service proposal.

Edanz operates on a principle of trust with its clients, so unless your project is very large there will usually be no prepayment or deposit required before we begin. However, if your manuscript will take a long time to complete or require several rounds of client review, then we may request payment installments at various stages of service completion. This kind of payment plan is arranged on a case-by-case basis, on terms suitable for each client.

To receive a quotation for one of our services, send your data or manuscript, along with your target journal or peer review letter, to info@edanzwriting.com and we will provide a detailed service proposal including a price quotation and estimated timeline.

We try to reply to requests for a service proposal within one working day; please contact us by phone if you have sent your manuscript for quotation but not had a reply within one working day.

If you have a project that you would like to discuss with us but are not able to send data or a manuscript, please send us an email outlining the project and the type of work you would like us to do. We will then contact you to go over our involvement and pricing structure.
