China Launch 2008

On April 29, 2008, the Scientific Directors of Edanz Writing, Dr Nicholas Smith and Dr Daniel McGowan visited Beijing to meet with Edanz's Chinese clients, including top level academics and executives in the pharmaceutical and biotech industries. Dr Smith and Dr McGowan discussed how authors can improve their chances of publication in a high-impact factor journal and also introduced the new Edanz Writing service.

September 2008 - For 13 years the Edanz editing service has provided Japanese authors with fast, high quality English language editing. Our now over 80 editors have edited manuscripts for submission to over 3000 different scientific journals, with successfully published reports in many thousands of issues of international journals.

However, over recent years I have noticed that it has become increasingly difficult for many authors to get published in journals with the impact level they feel their paper is suited for.

The Edanz Group is this month introducing to Japan its Edanz Writing service. This service is in addition to our normal editing, language polishing services, that we have provided Japanese authors for the past 13 years. Edanz’s writing service goes well beyond what other editing companies call “writing”- that kind of “writing” is what we call substantive editing. Of special interest to our clients might be that we rewrite draft or rejected manuscripts to give them a completely new appearance that presents the science in a clear and natural way. While initially this service will be for authors in the fields of health and medical sciences, it will be extended in 2009 to cater for those in the fields of science and technology.
