Edanz was established in Japan in 1995 and in China in 2006 and the group currently provides language services for over 600 manuscripts per month. Edanz has over 5,200 clients in Japan and 800 in China.

Edanz's service is the only Asia-based language editing service Elsevier recommends to their authors. The American Chemical Society Publications also recommend the Edanz service to their authors, with Edanz Editing and Liwen Bianji the only recommended services localized for Japanese and Chinese authors, respectively.
